Figuring you had been seeing too much of me lately, we figured Angela ought to take care of blogging and uploading things for this week. However, true to form, her die hard work ethic left her exhausted every day. She's currently napping, sprawled out in front of her computer in the middle of watching "Cats 101" on Youtube. Oops, she woke up.
Here's a snip from this week. I promise these things will come more regularly in the future.
Happy Saturday!
Haha, awesome tag/label. Do people usually use sour cream when making pancakes? I'm curious what those taste like. Also, is that a massive hunk of butter behind the pancakes? Are you two doing research near each other (location and field/topic of study)?
ReplyDeleteSo the interesting thing about the sour cream: I don't see it often in recipes. However, people often use buttermilk, which is slightly acidic. When you mix the buttermilk with baking soda in the batter, it makes bubbles and makes your pancakes light and fluffy. Sour cream is also slightly acidic, and I think is meant to accomplish the same thing. The sour cream also makes it a little more rich and creamy, which I liked.
ReplyDeleteOur research is pretty different. Angela's up the hill doing cancer related things, I'm in Engineering doing stuff for solar cells.
